Bayer Leverkusen have received a boost ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League round of 16 first-leg clash with Arsenal, with star striker Patrik Schick expected to return to the squad.

After missing the last two matches with muscular problems, Schick returned to team training with his Leverkusen teammates on Tuesday.

And as Leverkusen coach Kasper Hjulmand confirmed at a press conference, the Czech international could face the Gunners.

“Schicki could be in the squad tomorrow,” Hjulmand told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

Mark Flekken and Nathan Tella also took full part in Tuesday’s training session, but will not be involved against Arsenal.

Arthur (muscular), Loïc Badé (muscular) and Lucas Vázquez (calf) remain unavailable for Die Werkself.
