Andras Schäfer has been handed a two-game suspension after receiving a red card in 1. FC Union Berlin’s 4-1 defeat to Werder Bremen last Sunday.

Union initially appealed the penalty proposed by the DFB Control Committee but have now accepted the decision.

This means Schäfer will miss Union’s upcoming Bundesliga matches against Freiburg and Bayern Munich.

This season, the midfielder has made 24 appearances for the German capital club, scoring once.
