Leroy Sané appears to have a good chance of making Germany’s squad for this month’s friendlies against Switzerland and Ghana – and potentially for this summer's World Cup as well.

In an interview with Kicker, Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann praised the 30-year-old Galatasaray winger.

“There aren’t many players with his profile who frequently move into the center from the right wing. If his health cooperates, he could be a very important player for us,” Nagelsmann said.

Nagelsmann also highlighted Sané’s recent form and ongoing development at Galatasaray.

“We have a great relationship, and Leroy has played excellent games. He’s performing well at Galatasaray too. He could provide even more goals and assists, but that goes for many of our attacking players right now. Honestly, we never know 100 percent what he will ultimately bring onto the pitch.”

Sané, for his part, is eager to repay the trust and is not insisting on a starting role.

“You don’t get far in a tournament with just eleven players, but with the entire squad. I’m ready to take on any role that benefits me and the team. Whether I start or support from the bench, I want to contribute to our success as a team.”
