After making his debut for Germany’s U21 national team in November, 18-year-old Bayern Munich prodigy Lennart Karl is aiming to break into the senior squad for this summer’s World Cup.

“Of course, I really hope to be part of it,” Karl told reporters following Bayern’s 4-1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday.

“It’s a very, very big dream, and that’s why I give my all every day and work extremely hard for it. I just give everything, and then I hope it works out.”

At club level, Karl also has an ambitious target.

“We have a big dream in the Champions League – to win the trophy,” he said ahead of Bayern’s first-leg round of 16 clash against Atalanta on Tuesday.
