Aleksandar Pavlovic has made great strides in his recovery since suffering a broken collarbone in October.

The central midfielder returned to training with the squad last week, with reports suggesting the Bavarians are hopeful he can feature again before the turn of the year.

However, as Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany revealed at a press conference on Monday, Pavlovic isn't ready to return to action quite yet.

“Pavlovic isn't fully involved in training. Things are going well and quickly, but it'll still be a while," Kompany told reporters ahead of Bayern's Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

“I can't say anything yet. Things have gone quickly up till now. The medical department and ‘Pavlo’ have worked well. But the important thing is that we won't apply too much pressure. He should come back 100 percent fit. It won't be this week.”

Commenting on the new Champions League format and his side's position in the middle of the table with six points from four games, Kompany said:

"There are a lot of teams we haven't seen and won't see until February. The format is interesting. But it's a bit difficult to look at the table. Some have four very difficult games, some have easier ones.

“Our goal is top 1, hopefully we'll get there. For now, it's enough for me to say that we want to win against PSG tomorrow.”
