When Hinteregger was asked by Bayerische Rundfunk if he still sees Manuel Baum as the right coach for Augsburg, and if he believes the 39-year-old is capable of turning the downward spiral around, he answered:
"Difficult to say. The downward spiral has been going on for a year. The curve actually went down during the whole of 2018. I can't say anything positive about him, and I will not say anything negative."
Hinteregger didn't try to conceal that he wasn't satisfied with Augsburg's performance against Gladbach.
"You can't play like that. Normally, Gladbach would be up 4-0 at half-time. We hardly had any chances in the first half, and the second half wasn't much better. They showed us what quality is, and what putting in a performance means," the defender said.
Hinteregger and Augsburg are sitting 15th in the Bundesliga table ahead of Sunday's games.
