Reports: Bayer back-ups Amiri and Azmoun reach agreements with new clubs

Two German footballing media sources currently report that Leverkusen want-aways Nadiem Amiri and Sardar Azmoun have found takers.
After rejecting a contract extension offer earlier this summer, 26-year-old German midfielder Nadiem Amiri has long been linked with a move away from Leverkusen. Some Bundesliga clubs were linked with the five-times-capped international last month. It now nevertheless appears as if the Ludwigshafen native is headed abroad. Sky Germany reports that Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille are prepared to take Amiri on.

Leverkusen expert Stephan van Nocks - after reporting that a B04 incoming transfer is nearly complete -  reported that Amiri has reached a verbal agreement with the French side in a separate article. Sky Germany reports that Leverkusen themselves still seek a transfer base-transfer-fee in the €7-8 million range for the player they once paid TSG 1899 Hoffenheim €9 million for.

In other Leverkusen-related transfer news, it also appears as if striker Sardar Azmoun might finally be departing Bayer. The Iranian striker never managed to seal a regular starting place since joining the club from Zenit St. Petersburg in January 2022. At present, the 28-year-old appears to have little hope for playing prospects behind strikers Victor Boniface and Adam Hlozek.

Azmoun has frequently been linked with a transfer out. The player's old side Zenit have reportedly attempted to buy him back for a fee of around €5 million. Sky claims that Azmoun isn't interested in returning to Russia. Germany's "Sport Bild" tabloid reports that AC Milan are prepared to bring him to the Serie A and that an agreement between club and player has been reached.

The tabloid does not note how far along Bayer and Milan are in terms of negotiations. Azmoun himself hasn't been able to train with his German team recently as he recovers from a muscle tear.
