FC Barcelona were reportedly offered the chance to sign Germany international Nick Woltemade towards the end of the transfer window.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona were presented with an opportunity to sign the Newcastle United striker, but the Catalan giants were already on the verge of completing a deal for Gabriel Jesus at the time.

Woltemade, meanwhile, was beginning to explore a move to Serie A and ultimately joined Juventus on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 24-year-old will now be hoping to find more playing time in Italy and impress new Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp, who is set to name his first squad later this month.
