Rumors surfacing earlier today regarding a departure from Hoffenheim for Malian international Diadie Samassekou have quickly materialized into a confirmed transaction. Both Germany's TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Spain's FC Cadiz confirmed a six-month loan-arrangement for the 28-year-old late Thursday afternoon.

Samaesskou remains on out international duty with the Malian national team at the Africa Cup of Nations, at which his "Aigles" have just processed to the competition's quarterfinals. The once highly-touted midfielder has thus made the most of his recent call up. The player's La Liga side are currently in the midst of a relegation fight.

"Diadie approached us with the request to play for FC Cadiz until the end of the season," TSG personnel executive Pirmin Schwegler noted in a TSG-released statement, "We have agreed to this request. Diadie undoubtedly has his qualities, which he is currently demonstrating, not least at the Africa Cup."
