Wolfsburg set to sign Xaver Schlager from Red Bull Salzburg?

VfL Wolfsburg seem to have won the race to sign Xaver Schlager from Red Bull Salzburg.
Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Xaver Schlager has decided he wants to join VfL Wolfsburg, according to Sportbuzzer and Kicker.

The 21-year-old has also been linked with Borussia Mönchengladbach and RB Leipzig, but it seems he has now opted for a move to Volkswagen Arena.

Schlager is currently taking part in the European Under-21 Championship for Austria, and he is expected to complete his transfer to Wolfsburg after the tournament.

Wolfsburg are also working on the signing of Borussia Dortmund's Maximilian Philipp, but plan to trim their squad before sealing the deal.

Jeffrey Bruma, Paul-Georges Ntep and Richedly Bazoer are all fully expected to leave the club while Josip Brekalo could be on the move as well.

Wolfsburg have already brought in Kevin Mbabu, Joao Victor and Paulo Otavio this summer.
