Marcel Sabitzer smashed the ball into the top corner to secure RB Leipzig a 2-1 win over Zenit St. Petersburg in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Speaking to UEFA.com after the game, Sabitzer described his wonderful strike as one of his best ever goals.

"It's without doubt one of the best goals of my career. To score my first Champions League goal in this moment, in this game and then for it to be a goal like that – it's an incredible moment for me, a great feeling. I'm so happy I was able to help the team with my goal: the three points count more than my goal," he said.

The result leaves RB Leipzig top of Group G - two points ahead of Zenit and Lyon and three points clear of Benfica.

"Of course it's a great moment for us, especially given that we were under a bit of pressure having lost our last Champions League game. That's why we really wanted to get three points today and we deservedly did that tonight," Sabitzer said after Wednesday's win.
