Ramy Bensebaini not certain to start against Leverkusen
Gladbach coach Marco Rose says he hasn't decided if Ramy Bensebaini or Oscar Wendt will be starting against Bayer Leverkusen.
Ramy Bensebaini isn't certain to keep his spot in the starting eleven despite scoring and making an assist in Gladbach's 3-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt last week.
Speaking ahead of his team's Bundesliga clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, Gladbach coach Marco Rose revealed that Oscar Wendt is a contender to replace the 25-year-old at the left-back position.
"Whether Ramy Bensebaini or Oscar Wendt will play from the start is still open. We are happy that we have two equal players in this position. Ramy is at the end of Ramadan, and he takes it very seriously. We will see if he plays on Saturday," Rose said.
Rose, who used a 4-2-3-1 formation against Frankfurt, also revealed that he's considering lining up with three at the back.
"There are lots of things to sort out, like if we will be playing with three or four at the back. You'll see what we decide on Saturday," he said.
Gladbach fans have ordered more than 13,000 cardboard cutouts, which will fill the stadium in their absence as the game will be played behind closed doors in accordance with The German Football League's hygiene concept. And although the cutouts obviously can't fully replace real fans, Rose believes it's a great idea.
"The cardboard cutouts in the Borussia-Park aren't quite the same as having real fans there. But we all think it's a really cool idea," Rose said.
