Upon receiving some positive news regarding transfer feasibility, Werder Bremen can explore options in the upcoming winter transfer window.

It was initially assumed by the club's bosses like their director of football Clemens Fritz, that transfers would be difficult to realize in January.

A lack of finances and their FIFA loan quota is already exhausted with six loan deals were originally believed to be blocking any further deals.

However, a close look at the DFL regulations has now revealed some welcome news, as Fritz explained in a recent interview with BILD.

"We initially assumed that we could only make a total of five international loans. But that's not true.

“We can make six international loans, and six more are possible at the domestic level [within Germany],” he explained.

So, in addition to FIFA's regulations, the DFL's rules also apply in Germany, which allow for further loan transfers arriving from other German clubs.
