Will RB Leipzig be able to fight off interest in Marcel Sabitzer?

RB Leipzig could struggle to fight off interest in Marcel Sabitzer, who has reportedly attracted interest from Tottenham.
RB Leipzig will have to fight tooth and nail to hold on to Marcel Sabitzer amid interest from England, according to Bild.

Tottenham are understood to be the main contender in the race for the Austrian international, whose current deal expires in 2022.

Bild claims the London side could offer Sabitzer an annual salary of €8 million – €2 million more per year than he currently earns in Leipzig, where he is the top-paid player.

Sabitzer recently said he's not concerned about his contract status, telling Kicker:

"If I read my contract correctly, it expires in June 2022, which means it runs for another 18 months. We'll have to see about everything else.

"I'm just doing my job. We have a game every three days, that's exhausting enough.

"The club have said that there would be no contract talks during the season. So I'm fully focused on playing a successful season and don't think about what will happen later on at all."
