Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer has commented on the reported interest in the club's star striker Wout Weghorst.

"It's always a nice feeling for the player and the club when our players are interesting for top clubs. That speaks for the success of the team," Schäfer told Sky about the Wolfsburg striker, who has been linked with the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal.

"At the moment, no one has contacted us about Weghorst, so we firmly expect him to remain an integral part of our squad."

Weghorst, 28, has found the net 16 times in 23 games for Wolfsburg this season.
