Report: Liverpool close in on Ibrahima Konaté deal
RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konaté is said to be close to a move to Liverpool.
Liverpool are in advanced negotiations to sign RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konaté, according to The Athletic.
'The Reds' are reportedly 'in the process of finalising a deal' to sign the 21-year-old, who has a €40 million release clause in his contract.
Konaté has had an injury-plagued season, making just 15 appearances so far. In total, he has played 89 games for 'Die Roten Bullen'.
Leipzig have already confirmed the departure of centre-back Dayot Upamecano to Bayern München and reinforced the position with the signings of 19-year-old Josko Gvardiol and 20-year-old Mohamed Simakan from Dinamo Zagreb and Strasbourg, respectively.
