RB Leipzig have done wonders with plenty of transfers recently, but Eljif Elmas is certainly not one of them. The North Macedonian international joined Leipzig for €24 million from Napoli in January 2024. After only 22 appearances in all competitions, he left on loan to Torino for the second half of last season.

He’s now back to Serie A on another loan deal. Leipzig agreed to send the midfielder to Napoli. His former club now have the opportunity to sign him permanently after the end of the season.

“During our discussions with Eljif, we arrived at the joint decision that a return to SSC Napoli would be the right move for his continued development from both a personal and sporting perspective” said Leipzig’s sporting director, Marcel Schäfer.

Leipzig are also expected to let another player leave on loan to Serie A with Lois Openda’s expected move to Juventus.
