In this Fantasy Bundesliga article, we’ll highlight 10 players to consider adding to your team ahead of Matchday 32.
As a rule of thumb, we'll try to steer clear of the most obvious picks, instead focusing mainly on players who could offer great value as differentials.
Carl Klaus, Union Berlin (Goalkeeper, 2.33M, 0%)
With Frederik Rønnow ruled out for the rest of the season through injury, a low-cost starting option has emerged in goal in the shape of Carl Klaus, who impressed after coming on against RB Leipzig.
Union Berlin pressed unusually high in Marie-Louise Eta’s first match as coach against VfL Wolfsburg on Matchday 30 and are expected to go back to a similar approach in their remaining fixtures against 1. FC Köln, Mainz 05 and FC Augsburg after dropping deeper in their difficult away game in Leipzig last week.
This should give Klaus the chance to get decent points from saves in each game.
Danilho Doekhi, 1. FC Union Berlin (Defender, 9.74M, 9%)
Doekhi took his goal tally in all competitions this season to 7 against RB Leipzig last week, scoring 340 points. In the game before that against VfL Wolfsburg, he scored 346 points without finding the net, with his strong duel-winning ability and set-piece threat making him an excellent Fantasy asset.
Alphonso Davies, FC Bayern (Defender, 14.92M, 5%)
With Bayern looking to rotate heavily ahead of their Champions League second leg clash against PSG, Alphonso Davies looks like one of the more likely starters against Heidenheim on Saturday, having played just 45 minutes in the first game in France. It has even been suggested that he could start in a more advanced role on the left wing, which would increase his appeal even more.
Nathaniel Brown, Eintracht Frankfurt (Defender, 16.45M, 19%)
Even if Eintracht Frankfurt have struggled a bit lately, they are seen as one of the biggest favourites of the matchday as they take on Hamburger SV at home. Brown is coming off a decent 257-point return against FC Augsburg and has a high ceiling because of his attacking output.
Kaishu Sano, Mainz (Defender, 17.04M, 20%)
Playing as a central midfielder despite being listed as a defender in the game, Sano has scored a decent 189 points per game on average and is coming off an impressive 310-point return against FC Bayern. A strong ball-winner who also occasionally contributes a goal or assist, the Japan international looks like an excellent pick for Mainz’s favourable end-of-season schedule.
Leon Goretzka, FC Bayern (Midfielder, 5.63M, 2%)
Looking nailed on to start, and possibly even in an advanced midfield role, Leon Goretzka has plenty of potential as Bayern Munich welcome Heidenheim to the Allianz Arena this weekend.
Nadiem Amiri, Mainz (Midfielder, 18.13M, 9%)
Arguably one of the best options for the remainder of the campaign, Mainz’s midfield talisman will surely be on many managers’ shortlists this week. After scoring 252 points against Gladbach, Amiri managed a decent 161 points in Mainz’s difficult clash with Bayern despite not being directly involved in any of his side’s goals. Usually, though, he is heavily involved in Mainz’s goals, having scored 16 times and provided four assists this season.
Jens Stage, Werder Bremen (Midfielder, 19.06M, 17%)
After his brace against HSV, Stage got on the scoresheet once more in Werder Bremen’s 1–1 draw with Stuttgart. His overall package of physicality, involvement on the ball and goal threat makes him an excellent Fantasy option, with Werder also having a fairly appealing home game against FC Augsburg coming up.
Nicolas Jackson, FC Bayern (Striker, 11.32M, 4%)
If you don’t already have Jackson in your team, now is the time to get him. The Senegalese international has found the net in three games in a row and now looks set to start up front against last-placed Heidenheim at home, with Harry Kane likely to be rested again.
Arnaud Kalimuendo, Eintracht Frankfurt (Striker, 12.21M, 6%)
Although he didn’t have his best game against Augsburg last week, Kalimuendo has been a big success since joining Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Nottingham Forest in January. With head coach Albert Riera reportedly having a row with star striker Jonathan Burkardt, Kalimuendo started in the central striker role last time out, and he looks to have a good chance of doing so again against HSV at home. Playing in that role makes him even more appealing from a Fantasy perspective than when he is deployed on the wing.
