RB Leipzig have completed a striker signing on deadline day. Danish international Conrad Harder is their new man, as he signed a deal until 2030. Harder scored 11 goals and assisted 7 when Sporting CP won the domestic double last season.

The 20-year-old was initially expected to be the leading striker at Sporting after Viktor Gyökeres’ move to Arsenal, but he now leaves the club for only €24 million after a single season in Portugal.

“I am very happy for our new challenge at RB Leipzig,” said the striker, who was previously linked with a move to AC Milan and Rennes. “The Bundesliga is a top league in which I can evolve and prove myself. I hope I can score many goals. RB Leipzig stands for intensive, offensive football. And that exactly suits my game.”

“With Conrad, we are getting a striker who fits perfectly into our profile. He is physically and mentally strong, has a pace, and a very dangerous left foot. At the same time, he already has experience at an international level,” said Leipzig’s CEO of sports, Marcel Schäfer.
