Premier League giant enter Ekitiké race

Manchester United are reportedly showing interest in Eintracht Frankfurt’s sought-after striker.

With Viktor Gyökeres’ saga at a complicated stage due to disagreement between his agent and Sporting CP, English clubs are now adding Hugo Ekitiké’s name to their wishlist. Sky’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Manchester United joined the race in the past 48 hours.

However, Eintracht Frankfurt are still insisting on their valuation of the player, which is believed to be in excess of €100 million. Premier League champions Liverpool and Chelsea are already working on the player’s signature.

Ekitiké joined Frankfurt after a difficult spell at PSG, but he has regained his form since his first day in Germany. In only 18 months, he’s directly involved in 40 goals in all competitions. Despite Omar Marmoush’s January move to Manchester City, the Frenchman helped Frankfurt qualify for next season’s Champions League.

He was initially in France’s U21 squad for the Euros, but he’ll miss the tournament because of a back injury.
