Erik ten Hag is apparently on the verge of losing his job as Bayer Leverkusen coach after a disappointing start to the season.

Kicker suggested on Sunday that the Dutchman’s position was under serious threat after the club’s hierarchy withheld their backing in the wake of Saturday’s disappointing 3–3 draw with Werder Bremen.

Now, Bild reports that ten Hag’s departure will “probably” be confirmed on Monday, adding that it would be a “huge surprise” if Leverkusen were to stick with the former Manchester United boss.

According to the report, Leverkusen’s management met on Sunday to discuss and decide on his future.

The team’s training session is set for Monday at 13:30 CET. Whether ten Hag will still be in charge by then remains highly doubtful.
