SV Werder Bremen and Bayer 04 Leverkusen have reached an agreement for 24-year-old Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, according to multiple reports.

Boniface will be going on loan to Werder for the duration of the 2025/26 season, without an option to buy after it expires. The two sides added in the terms that a portion of his salary during his time in Bremen will be covered by Leverkusen.

Boniface found out the news during a Twitch livestream, which he promptly ended before flying to Bremen and performing his medical at the Weserstadion, which ended successfully. Werder will soon make the official announcement, unveiling him as their newest signing.

In the 2024/25 season, Boniface finished with eight goals and an assist in nineteen appearances. In the prior year during Leverkusen's Meisterschale-winning season, he scored fourteen goals and contributed with an assist on eight others over twenty-three matches.
