Bochum fought back to draw with promotion hopefuls Darmstadt in an entertaining affair at Vonovia Ruhrstadion. West Ham loanee Callum Marshall scored the goal that salvaged a point for the hosts on his 2. Bundesliga debut.

Fraser Hornby put the visitors ahead in the 7th minute, but Bochum responded quickly as Francis Onyeka and Philip Hofmann scored before the half-hour mark. Isac Lidberg’s 12th goal of the season leveled the score for Darmstadt before the halftime break.

Darmstadt went in front once again with an own-goal from Leandro Morgalla twenty minutes before the end. However, the Northern Ireland international saved the day for Bochum less than ten minutes after coming on for his debut.

With Paderborn’s loss to Holstein Kiel, the point was enough for Darmstadt to climb into the top three. However, they missed out on narrowing the gap with league leaders Schalke to two points. Bochum dropped to eleventh with Kiel overtaking their place.
