Kevin Ehlers’ solitary strike helped Eintracht Braunschweig to a huge three points against out-of-form Karlsruhe. Apart from substitute Roko Simic hitting the woodwork in injury-time, the visitors created very little after conceding inside the first 20 minutes.
It was his first goal at the Eintracht Stadion for the 25-year-old center-back. Braunschweig continued their leap in the table with the third win in five matches putting them in 12th place.
Karlsruhe were a serious candidate for promotion at one point, but they've only won once in their last nine games. Six of them ended in defeats as Christian Eichner's side are now only two points ahead of Braunschweig.
