Bochum recorded a fourth successive draw as they salvaged a point away at Elversberg. The scorelines in Bochum’s four stalemates are all different with this one ended 1-1 as they were unable to defend a first-half lead.

21-year-old midfielder Mats Pannewig scored his first-ever goal to put the hosts ahead in the 24th minute. Elversberg were denied by the woodwork twice before the half-time break as they pushed for the equalizing goal.

That did come early in the second half with Lukas Petkov’s strike. Including a lively injury-time encounter, both sides had chances to take all the points, but they eventually had to settle for a point each. Elversberg are dropped from second to fourth after a winless start to the new year, while Bochum remain in 11th place.
