Bayer Leverkusen are apparently stepping up their interest in highly sought-after Hertha BSC wonderkid Kennet Eichhorn.

According to Sky Germany, Leverkusen sporting managing director Simon Rolfes and director of professional football Kim Falkenberg flew to Berlin last week for talks with the 16-year-old’s representatives.

Should Die Werkself succeed in signing the teenager, their plan is to send him out on loan for the 2026/27 season – possibly back to Hertha BSC – according to Bild.

Leverkusen are just one of many top European clubs circling the German youth international, who is available via a release clause of around €12 million.

Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, FC Barcelona and Manchester United, among others, have also been mentioned as suitors.
