Helping to guide Bayern Munich to a 5-0 victory over Bodø/Glimt, Vincent Kompany feels his side are starting to discover their top form and touched on Jamal Musiala's return.
“We're in a good position. We still have players getting back to their rhythm. The counter-pressing, the pressing, the energy are positive," he explained to DAZN after the game.
"There's still room for improvement and we're working on that. A top fit Jamal is a bonus compared to last season, where we played for most of the season without him.
“Everyone was happy for him [Musiala] – 75,000 people in the stadium and the people in front of their TVs. We knew his moment would come. He scored a really important goal.
"It's great for Jamal, hopefully the focus now will only be on his performances. He knows how to deal with the other topic and will continue to get all support from us," he added.
Regarding tonight's performance, Kompany drew comparisons to their 0-0 draw with Schalke. He noted that his side “had to stay patient” to break down their Nowegian visitors.
“We didn't have many chances, but still had moments where we could've scored a couple of goals. Then scored at the right moment and then got the goals. Deserved win,” he said.
