When Justin Njinmah took a blow to his ankle during training on Thursday, fears of yet another Werder Bremen injury started to grow.

Only yesterday, Wednesday, Mitchell Weiser tore his cruciate ligament and as a result will be ruled out for an extended period of time.

However, positive news broke from the Bundesliga club hours later, stating that Njinmah will only be sidelined for a few days.

The all-clear was given after "team doctor Dr.Philip Heitmann revealed that the winger suffered a bruised foot," Bremen's website read.

“As a result, the 24-year-old will have to take it easy in the coming days and will likely also miss the friendly against Kickers Emden (Saturday, 3:30 pm).”

Horst Steffen's reign hasn't been made easy - Marvin Ducksch was injured to start pre-season, while Jens Stage will also be out for several weeks with a metatarsal strain.
