Bayern Munich's highly-rated talent Cassiano Kiala has been dealt a bitter blow with his season ended abruptly through injury.

As first reported by both TZ München and Merkur, the center-back tore his syndesmotic ligament during the Algarve Cup.

He is expected to be sidelined for at least three months, while Filip Pavić from the U-17 team will now train more regularly with the first team.

Prior to the injury, the 17-year-old had already made his debut under Vincent Kompany in a short cameo during a 4-0 win over Heidenheim.

The defender was also included on the bench in the Bavarian club's Champions League squad on three occasions during the league phase.
