Chrislain Matsima is still in Augsburg as his parent club and Crystal Palace continue negotiations for a summer transfer. FC Augsburg declined two offers from the South Londoners for the 24-year-old center-back.

According to Sky Sports, the two clubs are now in advanced talks to sort the payment structures and bonuses. Crystal Palace are expected to complete the deal for at least €30 million in the coming days.

With the player already reaching full agreement with Crystal Palace, the transfer could accelerate quickly once FC Augsburg give the green light for the deal. Pierre Sage’s side want the Frenchman to replace former Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix, who is set to join Chelsea.

The transfer of Matisma will most likely smash Augsburg's record sale, which is still held by Abdul Rahman Baba’s move to Chelsea for €26 million a decade ago.
