Edin Terzic ahead of Real Madrid clash: "Anything can happen in a final"

While he knows his Borussia Dortmund side are underdogs against Real Madrid, Edin Terzic is keen to point out that "anything can happen in a final".

At his final press conference before Borussia Dortmund's Champions League final against Real Madrid, Edin Terzic expressed his belief that his team can upset the odds.

The BVB coach knows his side are underdogs, but as he points out, "anything can happen in a final," and they were not favored to beat Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

"We know that they are the most successful team in this competition. They have only lost twice this season. But we're also ready to play at the highest level," said Terzic at Friday's pre-match press conference.

"Playing against Real 10 times is difficult, 34 times is impossible. Anything can happen in a final. The most important thing is the match. We've played so many games this season, 60. 60 games to prepare for tomorrow.

"They are the favorites, but we don't care, we were underdogs against Atletico and PSG. If we're brave and play a proper game, we'll have a chance.

He added that this week's training has given him full confidence that his players are ready for the difficult task ahead.

“There's a lot of anticipation, a lot of desire. I can only look at the boys and talk about myself. If someone had told me that I would be at the press conference the day before the CL final, I would have expected a lot of tension. I don't feel that,” Terzic emphasized.

“Everyone gives me a lot of confidence. We've prepared very well and I'm very happy with the training we've done in the last few weeks.”
