According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Nestory Irankunda is on the verge of a move to English Championship side Watford.

Irankunda burst onto the scene in 2022 at just 15-years-old, making his professional debut for Adelaide United in the A-League while attracting attention from around the globe.

Despite arriving at Bayern Munich amid significant hype, the Australian international has struggled to make a breakthrough. A move now appears likely as he seeks guaranteed game time - something that currently seems out of reach at Bayern.

The 19-year-old began the 2024/2025 season with Bayern’s second team in the Regionalliga before going on loan to Grasshoppers Zurich in the Swiss Super League, where he registered one goal and three assists in twenty-one games.

This could prove to be a move that benefits all parties, with Irankunda set to sign a four-year deal in England. Watford are reportedly paying €4 million to the German champions. In the event that Irankunda impresses, Bayern are said to retain both a 50% sell-on clause and a buy-back option for the winger, should they wish to exercise it in the future.
