Sky Sports report Köln are closing on a deal to sign winger Reigan Heskey from Manchester City. According to the transfer news expert Florian Plettenberg, the move will be on a permanent basis as the Bundesliga side agreed to pay a transfer fee of €2 million.

Köln’s squad planners Thomas Kessler and Tim Steidten, who knows the English player well from his time working as West Ham technical director, have beaten several clubs for the signing of the 18-year-old. The announcement of his contract until 2030 is expected shortly since he has already completed his medical, as Sky reported.

Effzeh have already turned Jahmai Simpson-Pusey’s loan into a permanent move from Manchester City for a reported €6 million transfer fee. Heskey and the center-back played together for the youth teams of the English club.

Heskey made his first team debut in Manchester City’s EFL Cup opener last term, which was a competition won by Pep Guardiola’s side. He scored 41 goals across the club’s youth teams, including 18 in 21 U18 Premier League starts.

The 1.84m attacker is the son of the former England striker Emile Heskey. The former Liverpool striker scored in England’s famous 5-1 win against Germany in Munich during the 2002 World Cup qualifiers, with the other goals netted by his clubmates Michael Owen (x3) and Steven Gerrard.
