For the fourth game in a row, Jamal Musiala was directly involved in a goal on Wednesday night, providing the assist for Harry Kane’s opener in Bayern Munich’s 2-0 DFB-Pokal semi-final win over Bayer Leverkusen.

Speaking at a press conference after the match, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany expressed his delight with the 23-year-old’s performance, noting a clear improvement in recent weeks as Musiala continues to build momentum following the long-term injury he suffered last summer.

“Jamal was good today, that was obvious,” Kompany said.

“He’s been playing with more freedom in recent weeks. That obviously helps.

“Now you can see that this joy in his game is slowly coming back,” he added.

With the Bundesliga title already secured, Musiala could be rested for Saturday’s match against Mainz before likely returning to the starting XI for the first leg of Bayern’s Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
