Bayern Munich veteran Manuel Neuer is facing crucial tests that will determine whether he will be available for Saturday’s DFB-Pokal final against VfB Stuttgart and the World Cup.

Neuer was forced off with a calf problem in Bayern’s 5-1 win over 1. FC Köln at the weekend and has not trained since.

According to Bild, the 40-year-old will also miss Wednesday’s training session and is set to have his calf examined on Thursday.

The results of the tests will determine whether he can feature for Bayern on Saturday – and whether he will be available for Germany at the World Cup.

If fit, the expectation is that he will remain Germany’s first-choice goalkeeper at the tournament, with head coach Julian Nagelsmann set to announce his full squad on Thursday.
