Nadiem Amiri is looking to take the next step in his career at the end of the season, according to Sky Germany.

The 29-year-old midfielder is said to be seeking a change of scenery, with a move to Saudi Arabia “basically an option," as per the report.

Meanwhile, Mainz would like to keep Amiri and extend his contract, which currently runs until 2028.

The German international is currently sidelined with a heel injury, with a return not expected until early April.

Despite the setback, Amiri will be hoping to secure a spot in Germany’s World Cup squad, having earned nine caps for the senior national team to date.
