Marin Pongracic admits surprise over Dortmund switch

Marin Pongracic has admitted that his move to Borussia Dortmund came as a surprise to him.
Marin Pongracic has explained how his loan switch from VfL Wolfsburg to Borussia Dortmund came about on deadline day.

The 24-year-old's move to Signal Iduna Park came out of nowhere for many, including himself.

"The transfer came as a surprise to me as well. It happened very quickly in the last two or three days before the transfer window closed. Marco Rose played a very big role in it. He wanted me to be there. We spoke on the phone and exchanged ideas for 10-15 minutes. It was a good conversation," Pongracic told Kicker.

With three games to his name for Dortmund so far, the centre-back has been pleased with his start to life at Dortmund.

"I'm very satisfied. The team has given me a warm welcome, I've settled in well, and I'm fit. We've won all of our games since my arrival. That makes me happy, of course. We have a great atmosphere," said Pongracic.
