Tim Lüddecke of German footballing magazine Kicker reports that newly promoted SV Werder Bremen have identified Hoffenheim attacker Sargis Adamyan as a top transfer mark.

Due back in Sinsheim after a short-term loan to FC Brugge this past spring, few expect Armenian striker Sargis Adamyan to suit up for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim next season. Georginio Ruter's emergence leaves little room for the 29-year-old in the attack plans of the Rhein-Neckar club.

Several Bundesliga sides have been linked with a swoop for the veteran, who enters the final year of his contract. German tabloid Sport Bild reported yesterday that SV Werder Bremen were stepping up their efforts to acquire the player, though no concrete negotiations had taken place yet.

Tim Lüddecke of German footballing magazine Kicker confirms the report (inclusive the lack of negotiations), yet writes of how well Adamyan would fit into current coach Ole Werner's system. The Kicker team correspondent notes that, in addition to complementing star striker Marvin Ducksch in a 3-5-2, Adamyan's demonstrated talent on the wings could help Werner build a dangerous 4-3-3.

The Armenian international's recent loan stint in Belgium saw him score six goals in 16 appearances under former Hoffenheim trainer Alfred Schreuder. Adamyan's estimated market value is now back up to €3.5 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. The Kraichgauer, after paying €1.5 million to acquire the attacker from Regensburg in 2017, could easily flip him for a handsome profit.
