The editorial staff of Italian transfer guru Gianluca di Marzio reports that FC Sevilla have eyes for Dortmund's Donyell Malen in the event that OGC Nice pulls the plug on the loan-out of Danish striker Kasper Dolberg.

A potential move involving Danish striker Kasper Dolberg might end up having a double effect on top-tier German club football. The 25-year-old is currently being linked with a move to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim after his parent club OGC Nice cancels his current loan-out to FC Sevilla. The editorial staff responsible for maintaining Italian transfer guru Gianluca di Marzio's website claim that the Spanish side may be interested in Dortmund's Donyell Malen as a potential replacement.

Apart from some aberrant successful spurts, Malen hasn't come close to achieving the type of impact associated with his €30 million transfer to the BVB in the summer of 2021. The Dutchman has scored just five league goals for die Schwarzgelben in the last 18 months. This year, the 23-year-old managed only one tally and two assists in 17 appearances across all competitions. In the event that Giovanni Reyna, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Karim Adeyemi remain healthy, Malen should be considered very much expendable.

Dortmund could still recoup some of their investment costs with a winter transfer. Malen maintains and estimated market worth of some €20 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. The 19-times-capped Oranje international did prove himself capable of contributing for the BVB in European club competition, netting four goals for his German club in Champions' and Europa League play.
