With Yann Sommer's move to FC Bayern München looking increasingly likely, two reliable German media sources are now reporting that Borussia Mönchengladbach are looking at Sommer's friend and Swiss national team colleague Jonas Omlin as a potential replacement. Omlin, currently playing for Montpelier HSC, maintains a current estimated market worth of €7 million.

There are many potential stumbling blocks to the deal. For starters, the 28-year-old net-minder's Ligue 1 side, German tabloid Sport Bild notes, isn't keen on letting their #1 go in the midst of a relegation battle. Montpelier might push the requested transfer fee to €10-12 million.

Gladbach aren't expected to even get that amount from Bayern for Sommer.

Other reports suggesting that the foals may be interested in FC Copenhagen keeper Mathew Ryan appear closer to the mark. It does appear as if Roland Virkus and the BMG front office aren't prepared to give the presumed "goalkeeper of the future" Jan Olschowsky complete confidence just yet in a crucial season.

Former Leipzig backstop Yvon Mvogo has also been linked with a Gladbach move.
