Confirmed: Mbuku signs with Augsburg

FC Augsburg officially confirmed the signing of French winger Nathanaël Mbuku on Monday evening.
FC Augsburg's sixth winter signing is now officially complete. Twenty-year-old French winger Nathanaël Mbuku moves to the Fuggerstadt on a new deal good through 2027. Germany's transfermarkt actually reports that Mbuku's French club, Stade Reims, allowed him to depart on a free six months before the end of his contract.

FCA chief personnel executive Stefan Reuter proudly declared that the club had opted to strike quickly to obtain a targeted attacker they had been eyeing for some time. Reuter said that he and his team had already planned to obtain Mbuku in the summer, but found an opportunity to do so now and "struck while the iron was hot."

"Nathanaël Mbuku is a fast and technically skilled offensive player who, despite his very young age, has already played more than two seasons in Ligue 1 as a regular," Reuter noted in reference to the signing, "FCA fans can look forward to another exciting player who we will give time to settle into the Bundesliga."

"After really successful years in which I got a lot of playing time, it's time for me to take the next step," the player himself added, "Many Frenchmen make their breakthrough in the Bundesliga and I also want to develop as a player with a lot of work and diligence. I can't wait to be on the pitch with my new teammates."
