Pascal Gross is thrilled by Toni Kroos' decision to come out of international retirement ahead of the European Championship.

The 32-year-old Brighton midfielder is relishing the prospect of playing alongside the Real Madrid star in Germany's central midfield.

"He always has the ball under control, the way he receives the ball is flawless, and that has been the case for over ten years at the highest level at Real Madrid," Gross told Süddeutsche Zeitung.

"There's always a purpose behind his passes, it's a matter of half a meter forward or backward, depending on which direction his teammates should go with the ball," he added.

Gross, 32, made his international debut in September and has been capped four times so far.
