Germany are no longer the most scoring team in World Cup history. Following Brazil's 2-0 win against Mexico in the round of 16, the 'Selecão' have taken the record that was previously held by 'Die Mannschaft'.

It was Neymar's 1-0 goal that made Brazil surpass Germany while Roberto Firmino's 2-0 goal sent the South Americans even further ahead at first place.

Brazil, who started the tournament at second place with 221 goals, have now scored 228 World Cup goals while Germany, who scored twice in Russia, have netted 226 times.

Argentina are third with 137 goals, Italy are fourth with 128 goals while France are fifth with 113 goals.
