FC Augsburg are exploring the possibility of signing VfL Wolfsburg forward Dženan Pejčinović in the summer transfer window.

If the Fuggerstädter were to complete such a move, it would mean a return to Augsburg for the 20-year-old. Pejčinović was in their academy between 2017 and 2022 before eventually signing in Wolfsburg - even though there was interest from various top sides in Europe, including AC Milan, AFC Ajax, Chelsea FC, Inter Milan, Juventus FC, and Manchester City FC.

Pejčinović is currently under contract to the Niedersachsen club until the end of the 2028/29 season, meaning that a transfer fee would need to be involved. He is currently valued at €6 million by Transfermarkt.

With VfL Wolfsburg, Pejčinović has played 15 matches in the Bundesliga, 11 of which were this season alone; however, he has yet to register a goal or assist. While on loan in the 2. Bundesliga with Fortuna Düsseldorf, he finished the 2024/25 season with 5 goals in 19 matches.

At the international level, Pejčinović is eligible to represent Germany, Montenegro, or Bosnia and Herzegovina. He played for the Montenegro under-15 national team in 2019 before switching to Germany, having most recently scored twice in five appearances with the under-21 national team.
