Hasan Salihamidzic backs Lucas Hernandez to be a success at Bayern

Bayern München boss Hasan Salihamidzic feels certain that Lucas Hernandez will live up to the expectations at Allianz Arena.
Bayern München sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is confident that Lucas Hernandez will make his mark at the club.

The Bavarians smashed their club-record fee when they paid €80 million to sign the French international last summer.

Hernandez has since seen injuries hamper his attempt to establish himself at Allianz Arena, but Salihamidzic isn't doubting that the 24-year-old will assert himself.

"It's unfortunate that he didn't get off to a good start with us due to injury, but these things happen," Salihamidzic told Sport Bild and continued:

"Lucas has the quality and the will to come out of such a situation stronger. His transfer was unanimously approved by the board of directors and the supervisory board, and we are convinced that he will be of great help to our team."

The versatile defender has made 14 appearances for Bayern so far.
