FC Köln youngster Ismail Jakobs has opened up on his personal ambitions for the 2020/21 season.

After nailing down a regular starting spot on the left wing under Markus Gisdol, the 21-year-old is determined to chip in with more goals and assists.

"My confidence has increased. I want to keep going, play as many games as possible and achieve my goals," Jakobs told Sport Bild.

"I'm a left-back by trade. Now that I play in a more attacking role on the wing, I want to become even more dangerous in front of goal, make more assists and improve offensively in general.

Asked if he has set concrete goals for the upcoming season, Jakobs responded:

"Five goals, five assists."

Jakobs, who made his debut for the German under-21 national team on Thursday, scored two goals and made two assists in 20 games last season.
