Confirmed: Hertha land Arsenal midfielder Guendouzi, recall Löwen early from Augsburg

Berlin's larger capital club confirmed the arrival of two midfielders early Monday evening.
Hertha BSC confirmed two of their pending transactions moments before the official close of the transfer deadline. As expected, 21-year-old French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi will join die alte Dame on loan from Arsenal with a voluntary purchase option. The larger capital city club also confirmed reports that midfielder Eduard Löwen has been recalled early from his loan spell with Augsburg.

Löwen's loan-contract with the Fuggerstädter was terminated six months prematurely so as to give Hertha boss Bruno Labbadia more midfield options following the departures of Marko Grujic, Per Cijan Skjelbred, and Andrej Duda. A deal to send Arne Maier on a year-long loan to Bielefeld was also concluded earlier in the day.

The Arsenal talent earned regular starts for previous Gunners trainer Unai Emery, yet fell out of the starting XI under Mikel Arteta. The 23-year-old Löwen returns to the capital having scored twice in 16 appearances during his tenth month stint away from his parent club.
