Bayern München beat RB Salzburg 3-1 at Allianz Arena to seal their progress to the last-16 of the Champions League with two games to spare.

Dominik Szoboszlai missed a glorious chance to put Salzburg ahead in the 35th minute as he fired over from close range.

Instead, it was the reigning champions who broke the deadlock shortly before the break when Robert Lewandowski tapped in the rebound after Thomas Müller's shot was saved by Cican Stankovic.

Bayern doubled their lead in the beginning of the second half as an attempt from Kingsley Coman was diverted into the net by Maximilian Wöber.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men midway through the second half when Marc Roca was shown his second yellow card in his first start for Bayern, but that didn't stop them from increasing their lead. Just two minutes later, second-half substitute Leroy Sané made it 3-0 with a header.

RB Salzburg pulled one back through Mergim Berisha with 73 minutes played, but Bayern's win was never really in danger although the guests managed to create further opportunities in the final phase of the game.

Bayern's fourth win out of four means they are guaranteed to finish top of Group A, sitting seven points clear of second-placed Atlético Madrid with two games left to play.
