Bayern München have the financial muscle to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, says club president Herbert Hainer.

Haaland's agent, Mino Raiola, recently said that only a maximum of 10 clubs can afford his client, and Bayern are one of them, according to Hainer.

"We are a financially very strong and healthy club. Although we are also suffering massively from the pandemic, we can always buy players if we are convinced of them," Hainer told Sport1.

Hainer, however, says he can't guarantee that Bayern will be spending big money on a player in the near future.

"I can't say today. We are in a pandemic, the whole world is in an extraordinary situation – socially, financially and football-wise as well. Things are changing every day, so I'm not going to make any predictions," said Hainer.

"What is certain, however, is that in the future, we will continue to pursue our successful path of signing young players with outstanding skills."
