Willi Orban has put pen to paper on a new contract with RB Leipzig, the Bundesliga club have announced.

The 28-year-old centre-back's contract was due to expire in 2022, but he has now signed a contract extension until 2025.

"Willi has played a major role in our successful path over the years and has once again proven how important he is to our team this season," emphasized RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche.

"He leads the way on the pitch with good performances and is also an important part of our team in the dressing room. Willi is a symbol of RB Leipzig and is an important identification figure for our fans."

Orban has played for Leipzig since 2015, making 189 appearances with 18 goals and six assists to his name.
